My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING ADOPTION APPLICATIONS BUT BECAUSE OF THE VARIOUS REGULATIONS SURROUNDING THE COVID-19 VIRUS, WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE, OUR DOGS ARE IN FOSTER HOMES IN A STATE WITH A STAY AT HOME ORDER. WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS BUT WE CAN NOT DO HOME VISIT AT THIS TIME TO COMPLETE THEM.

We will contact you at the time this is no longer a restriction. If you are interested in one of our dogs please go to our website and fill out an adoption Information Form.

SUMMER, age 19+ months, is one of the 5 Iowa dogs we volunteered to take of a 18 Great Pyrenees dogs that were surrendered. She was moved to a foster home who is preparing her for a normal life. She would do well with another dog to help teach her the ways of living in a home. You will need a yard with a 5 foot fence minimum. She was diagnosed with epilepsy but is doing great on her medicine now. It is inexpensive and a low dosage. She can live a long health life . She loves kids and is gentle. She enjoys playing with tennis balls .

If you have never had a Pyr Puppy you need to read this : http://www.nepyresq.org/page/i-want-a-great-pyrenees-puppy-50.html

The application process is to go to our website and fill out an adoption application form. http://www.nepyresq.org/page/adoption-process-47.html

We do not accept INVISIBLE fencing for the following reasons:
1) Most Pyrs ignore the pain and go through it. 2) This is a guardian breed and this fencing does not keep people or other animals out of your yard. The Pyr could take them as a threat or be attacked.

Most of these dogs are not a dog park breed. They bark a lot and can bother your neighbors.
