My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shian is a 9 month old female Border Collie mix.
Shian is extremely timid at first and it will take some patience with whoever falls in love with her and takes her home. She spent the first night in the same spot she took up when I brought her in the house. She only got up and interacted when the other dogs were nearby. The next day she was less afraid and wagged her tail quite a bit, but she will likely take a few days to come out of her shell.
It is a requirement she goes in a home with other friendly dogs and a fenced in yard. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Shian is housebroken, with a home with a doggy door. She is quiet in a crate, but I mostly don't even have to crate her as she has never gotten into anything in a properly dog proofed home. Shian is leash trained and just learned “sit”! Before she came to Roseys Rescue, she was unsure of humans, but now she comes when called, sleeps in bed with us and even gives kisses for a treat!. She likes to sunbathe and doesn't play rough with other dogs. She is great with cats. Shian is not a confident dog and takes her cues from other dogs, so for the first 48 hours in your home, don't push her, just let her decompress, keep her on a schedule and she will do great. Once she gets to know her surroundings and what is expected of her, she is such a joy! She comes when called and loves to snuggle on the bed and give me kisses and get a belly rub!
She is so sweet once she trusts you. And VERY well behaved. She is a low maintenance dog and just goes with the flow.
She doesn't shine at adoption events, so she doesn't get a second look, but if they only knew how wonderful she is at home, they would have snatched her up!
