My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dice is a 9-10 month old Border Collie/Heeler mix.
He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, wormed & microchipped. He gets along with other dogs but isn’t fond of cats. He is a typical "herding dog" and has the energy to prove it! He is quiet when left alone, but as soon as you get out the water hose or fill his kiddie pool, he is loud and proud!
He came to me from Pender Shelter where he was found as a stray, so we don't have any history on him. He had parvo when he was at the shelter, so Roseys Rescue brought him home and nursed him back to health. He hasn't skipped a beat, he recovered in a few days and has finished his 2 week quarantine, to ensure he has stopped shedding the virus in his stool.
This boy is FULL of life, but can only go to a home that is experienced in Herding dogs. No small children. These breeds are notorious for "nipping" kids to herd them. We do not want to set this little fella up for failure. He is so sweet with all humans, and is socialized, but could use some work on his manners and re-directing when he is focused on something. Especially where the water hose is concerned. He can be “mouthy” with other dogs, so not all dogs will be a good fit with Dice.
This boy loves the water, but BE CAREFUL, he is a SAVAGE when you break out the water hose! He doesn't let anything get in his way! He has even done flips and somersaults and he can jump pretty high!
He is leash trained and seems fine in a crate, but we have not crated him for more than a few hours. He is likely not housebroken but this is one smart cookie and has learned so much in 3 weeks! He mimics all the other dogs. Dice is extremely high energy. A fenced in yard is a must. No exceptions.
