My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

No Phone Calls: please fill out an application to be approved and we will get back to you. This nice cocker boy is deaf and needs a home with someone who will be diligent about keeping his health issues under control. He needs an owner who can afford his medical care as needed. His health issues are all manageable versus being chronic. He can be with children 10 and older.

My name is Tadd. I am a very nice black n white party cocker boy. I just turned 6 years old on July 17th. I was turned into a NC shelter along with several other pets. My owners told the staff they just couldn't afford to keep us anymore. The vet paperwork they turned in for me says that I had to have bilateral ear ablation done at NC State a few years ago which is usually caused by lack of care. It was very costly and this procedure caused me to be deaf in both ears. I have dry eye and thyroid issues and my skin problems started in 2014. These nice rescue folks have been working with me to get my health issues under control. This vet says that my medical issues are all manageable and are not considered chronic. When I find a new home and get adopted, my new owner will need to be diligent with my care to keep me healthy. I am easy to work with.

I am heartworm negative, neutered and decently house trained as long as you let me out often. I am dog social, cat friendly and I enjoy attention, love and quality time with my human family. I can be with children 10 plus who understand that I am deaf and they can learn how to handle me to keep me safe. I will do best in a home with another cocker who is dog social, can be my pal and will help me to learn the house routine. I am reactive to bigger dogs and my tail will wag, but I definitely prefer to be friendly with and hang out with other cocker dogs. I am now on a medicine for dry eye, my thyroid issue has been balanced to the proper dosage and I am scheduled for a dental cleaning. The vet has put me on a prescription rabbit diet to address my skin issues. After only a few weeks she has noted that I have greatly improved on this diet. Fact is, she is absolutely amazed at the difference of how my skin is now versus what it was on my initial appointment when I first came in. She also suggested medicated baths once n awhile to be an added plus to help me feel better. I've had one a week so far and they seem to help. Please give me the home that I deserve. I am a good boy, pretty easy to deal with and my health issues are manageable. I will do best if you are diligent about keeping me on this prescription rabbit dog food diet and you can afford to pay for the medicines that keep my issues under control to keep me healthy. It feels great to be happy and doing so much better after several years of having problems that haven't been easy on me. I will be a nice best friend for you to love, enjoy and adopt as a great companion.

My adoption fee is: $350.
