My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carly is a 1-year-old spayed female black lab. Carly weighs 62 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION: Jul 18, 2019: Carly is available for adoption; she and her dominant German Shepherd sister could not get along and the adopters had never enlisted the services of a trainer so many of her puppy antics went unchecked.

Carly loves to snuggle with you on the furniture, but she is also comfortable in her crate, often racing for it since she knows she will get a treat. She likes to swim and while she is almost always carrying a toy in her mouth, she isn't too much into retrieving. Carly knows a handful of commands: it, Stay, Easy (when taking treats), Come, Back, Hurry Up (when doing business), Paw, Down (with a treat). She does still pull on the leash but walks fairly well in an EZ Walk harness. Indie will counter surf but will stop when corrected.

Carly will sniff a cat and pretty much leave it alone, but if it starts to run, she will chase it. She will harass goats and chickens as well. She loves her three human siblings, aged 10-16, and enjoys playing with them and snuggling with them. Carly is terrific with human visitors and is always happy to meet them. Carly was with a very strong willed female dog in the house, and would probably do best with a submissive male dog. Carly doesn't mind loud noises such as thunder and "loves" the vacuum cleaner. She enjoys riding in the car. Carly does have some food allergies, so she does eat a premium, but not prescription, food.
