My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE SHARE THIS BOY, HE IS REALLY AWESOME AND EASY!

Meet sweet bully mix boy RIVER! This boy is PERFECTLY adorable and now ready for his forever home! He is about 2 years old and trained, he knows sit and lay down and is VERY compliant :) He is a "bully mix" and is a great medium size at 55 lbs but only knee high if that. We call him the itty bitty pittie, he's a lowrider and VERY friendly and never barks.

So though River has been around other dogs and cats, we want him to start off is his forever home as the only pet because he needs to finally settle. He has actually been several places in the past few months through no fault of his own. His first owner got him as a puppy and he was left alone when that owner was sent to jail, then he went to another rescue who didn't market him, then he went to a wonderful daycare/rescue, then a foster where he waiting a while and now with us where we know he will find a forever home that will cherish him, he is super friendly to all, absolutely fine loose in the house when you are gone (zero separation anxiety) and wonderful in public.

Out on walks, nothing bothers him, he met a Chihuahua and was totally fine with him, met a Retriever puppy and enjoyed playing with her on the leash,
saw a couple cyclists and had no reaction to the bicycles.
We decided to let him meet our cat, and he was totally fine (remember our cat is used to being around dogs and never runs). He was curious about the kitty and started sniffing him, the cat hissed and swatted at River, but he didn't react and just walked away.
He sits before his meal and sits before he is let out. He takes treats very gently and is very docile in every way.

Sweet River is fully house trained. He's very smart, FUNNY, and playful but also loves to just chill and tires out easliy. He likes to snuggle and can do a few commands. We cannot say enough about how wonderful this guy is. He deserves all the best life has to offer and there will be tears when we find that. He is a total lovebug and we could see him being a therapy dog even.

For now, due to the stress of being bounced around, we would like to start him off as an only dog (or separated cats) so he can finally bond forever, other dogs are not out of the question at all in the future. He lets any humans touch his food and toys and will do zoomies when you ask him, then go lay down. He has been around small kids but he is a miniature tank so would be best with the somewhat older ones.

He is fully house trained and crate trained if needed. He will "talk" to you briefly in the morning when you take him out but otherwise is silent. He is not destructive and thankfully has zero separation anxiety. He likes to ride in the care and is not a picky eater. We do know that he is not bothered by thunder storms or fireworks and doesn't have food/toy aggression!

River is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, heartworm negative and has a valid health certificate.
