My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Miss Bella. I'm an 8 year old chihuahua lady seeking a new forever home.

My 83 year old dad recently broke his back and must move into assisted living and cannot take me. He is heartbroken and what we both want most is a new forever home for me where I will be loved and protected. It seems I was a lap dog with my dad, who was in a wheelchair. So I love to sit in a lap, and in fact, am a bit lost without a person to be near.

I am timid and shy at first, but I warm up quickly.
I am a snuggler and I love walks!
I have been doing great at learning house training in my foster home.

Right now, taken just as I am, I will do great as an only dog, and a lap dog that does not have to be alone too much. You see, this is how I lived since I was four months old with my dad, and also my mom,

I know I can learn, but I will need an experienced, gentle, positive owner or someone wiling to get training help for me. I don't know how to get along with other dogs, but I bet I could learn! I was not house trained, but I am making great gains in that area! I am so used to being with my dad I will need someone patient if I am to learn to be alone without crying and feeling very scared. I'm not yet crate trained, and I get scared at the vet.

I am a good little dog, just a girl who was not taught some things.

I come spayed and up-to-date on all my shots. We are working on my microchip!
