My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you’re feeling tuckered out and you’re looking for a picker upper, look no further than me, Tucker! My legs may look short, but these jump sticks carried me from a rural, high kill shelter right here to your back door. And human, my plan is either to jump in your purse while you aren’t looking or talk you into adopting me- the choice is yours.

I am a 5-7 year old Chihuahua mix and I weigh around 10 lbs. I am very dog friendly, but I am not a huge fan of cats. Going for walkies is probably my favorite past time, a close second being getting some intense booty scratches and pets on the head. Also, I am a proud member of the 99% Housetrained Club, just waiting on my t-shirt and membership card to come in the mail.

If you are looking for an affectionate, goofy, tiny dog with some pep in his step and some brains in his noggin, you’re looking for me, Tucker! Apply to adopt me at augustadogadoptions.org today!

Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. For more information and to apply to adopt, please visit www.augustadogadoptions.org

If you google our address, you will be directed to Richmond. That is NOT our adoption event location.
