My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fraggle is a young (born approx 6.21.18) male Akita. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on flea/heartworm prevention, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained.

Fraggle was picked up stray in Portsmouth, VA and was taken to the shelter. He was never claimed. We were contacted when his hold was up and were told he was a senior with behavioral problems. While we were not optimistic about the outcome, we agreed to come meet him.

Turns out, this poor guy was NOT a senior, he was a 10-12 month old puppy! He was also a medical disaster, reeking of yeast, and in a lot of pain. His ears were bald, scaly, and weeping from severe infection. His cheeks and neck bald, bloody, and oozing as a result of his scratching while looking for relief from his raging infection. His feet were swollen from sores and his scrotum was also bald, inflamed, and oozing. Since coming to us, we have resolved his infection and now he's blossoming into the stunning kiddo he is.

Through all of this, Fraggle remains a very sweet boy. His thyroid is a bit low and we have put him on supplementation (which is very inexpensive). We are happy to report that he is finally healthy enough and medically cleared for adoption. This kiddo could possibly live with a cat!
