My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kayako!

Kayako is a 3 yr old, 8.5lb, chihuahua mix. She is looking for a home that will fit her high energy spirit and where she can be “queen of the castle”. Kayako is cat and dog friendly and she will not disappoint in the love and affection department once you earn her trust, she will follow you around wherever you go and is truly a lap dog smothering you with all the kisses you’ll allow her to give or show you her tummy for belly rubs. It takes her awhile to warm up to strangers but treats seem to do the trick as she is very treat motivated.

Kayako is crate trained but does not necessarily like it, she will settle down after a few minutes of fussing and she does well being put behind a baby gate but she is at her best when she is out and active with her people. She has not been destructive being left out of her crate with a frozen Kong and plenty of toys.

Kayako is leash trained and loves her walks and is a great companion in the car. She knows her basic manners (sit, stay, no, off) and with further work she is very smart and eager to learn more tricks!

Kayako is ready for her "furever" home are you ready for her?

Kayako's adoption fee is $250.00 and he is being fostered in Brookfield, WI.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
