My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Linus (mantle) and Pavlov (harlequin) are 10 year old (both have July birthdays) who came into rescue following a death in their family. They are a very bonded pair who get along well, but are typical siblings… one minute they are tormenting each other and the next minute one is grooming the other. Most of the time they peacefully coexist keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood through the front window, playing musical furniture as part of their nap routine, or exploring the backyard. Linus and Pavlov are both in good health with some lumps, bumps, and skin tags that often accompany seniors. These brothers love to take rides in the car and travel very well. They also like to take walks, but are very big and strong and could use some leash work when walking together. Linus is good with large and small dogs and ignores cats. However, their previous owner was cautious with introductions to other dogs due to a few scuffles he had in obedience classes, which he attended because he was growling at the vet. He will let you touch him everywhere, but does NOT like going to the vet and needs to be muzzled. He has had exposure to children 5-8 years old via family visits and growled when they crawled on him, but was fine playing in the yard with them. Pavlov is good with other dogs and is fascinated by cats, but does not chase or hurt them. He has also had exposure to the 5-8 year old children and was fine with them. Pavlov likes to be petted, but doesn’t like his ears inspected or his nails cut and will run away if you try. He does require prescription food and is on a restricted diet due to bouts with pancreatitis. If you’re looking to add two very sweet, smart, affectionate, low-maintenance Danes to your family, then Linus and Pavlov are waiting for you!
