My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Xenia is looking for love!

Hi! My name is Xenia. I was found in the middle of a street by my Foster Mom. She drove right past me! Thank Goodness she stopped and picked me up. I was checked for a microchip, and I didn’t have one. I’m not sure how I even got in this situation. The neighbors said I had been on the run for several months.
I am approximately 2 years old. I have one blue eye, one brown eye, ears that stick straight off my head, and tons of freckles under my white fur. I weigh 38 lbs, and love to snuggle and lay in laps. If your not petting me enough, I will let you know.

They say I’m the best behaved dog in the house!! I am crate trained and never had an accident in my crate. I love to snuggle in my blanket and cozy dog bed. I will go lay in my crate when I’m tired or when I think I’m in trouble. I love to play with other dogs & humans (young and old), especially my foster dog siblings. My favorite game is Tug-of-War and I love chewing on my toys. Nylabones are my favorite! I am slowly learning how to fetch tennis balls.

Please don’t let me out at night without a human. The dark still scares me a bit. I’m getting better, but I prefer some light in the yard. My foster parents also have a nightlight for me at bedtime, so I don’t have sneak attacks. I’m still suffering from a little PTSD.

My foster parents say I would fit into almost any family, except cats. I don’t like those sneaky little critters! My perfect home would be one with other dog(s) and humans that will allow me to play, snuggle, & follow (stalk) them around the house. I warm up fastest to men, but I love all people. Love is Love!

Won’t you love me today!

Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1 1/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $ 100.00 of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue.

ADOPTION FEE's:
Puppies under 6 months: $199.00
Adults: $150.00
Seniors (over 7 yrs): $99.00
