Hi my name is Archer, I was found roaming a neighborhood and ended up in the city slammer. My peeps did not find me there and now I am at Pet Angels looking for a new family. I miss my old family they took good care of me and taught me to be a good boy. I like to be with my people and hang out with them, but my people left me, won't you be my new people?
House Manners: Archer seems like he was a loved house pet he has not hiked his leg indoors with us despite all the animal smells here at the rescue. We suspect he is fully house trained.
Basic Training: Archer walks on a leash awesome and knows several basic commands such as sit shake and come.
Other Dogs: Archer is calm and non reactive with other dogs.
Cats: Archer was a little to excited when the cats would run, but listened very well. He should be trainable around a cat, but provisions to keep them separate would be best until he understands it is part of the family and respects the kitty. We had him on a leash when we cat tested him, he was willing to chase. He was also able to sniff the cat while she was laying down and done well with that.
Kids: No history with Archer and kids, older kids recommended simply due to his size. But over all he is a calm non reactive dog.
Fencing: We do not know what caused Archer to be free roaming on the streets. He would likely be ok with a secure 4 ft fence.
The adoption fee is $150.This dog has had its age appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic dewormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped by 24Petwatch with free registration , and also comes with 30 days of free 24Petwatch Pet Insurance .
Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption:
We have a pretty open adoption policy, apartments, unfenced yards, and young kids are okay, but only if the pet you are interested in is a good fit for that situation!!! Some dogs may require a fence of a certain type and height, due to safety, the breed or known history. We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information.
We asked that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam in the first 30 days to establish with your vet and obtain their heartworm prevention prescriptions and have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-womers after leaving our care.
