Hi! I’m Rolo, a cuddly, clever and very curly 7 yr old MIni Poodle X. I come in a small package - only 23 lbs. - just the perfect size! I am lively. fun-loving and affectionate too which is why Poodles like me are so popular! I really like people and I make friends wherever I go. I even like to cuddle up with complete strangers! If they’ll give me attention and affection, we’re friends forever.
Some dogs like other dogs better than they like people - but not me. I like people the best. I like other dogs at the dog park when we are free to run around and play but I don’t really feel comfortable with them when we’re on a leash. I get nervous, thinking they might want to fight me, so I bark and lunge to let them know not to get any closer! I could really use some more training with this so I can chill a little when I meet other dogs. I am very smart so maybe a socialization class would be good. I’m all about learning! Oh, I forgot to mention that I like cats! Weird eh? I’ve lived with a cat so I know all about them - but I still like them! I do tell them when they get too close to my food or try to get on my bed! Even I have boundaries!!
One thing I don’t like much is little people. I’m sensitive to their loud and sudden noises and movements. I’m happier in a peaceful, calm environment with adults. Knowing this about me, my humans have decided that it would be best for me to live in a different family now because we have a new family member at our house - a baby! I’m sure you can understand why I am not adjusting too well. My people still really love me but this baby gets more attention than me! I was perfectly content being a two person dog and I am not taking kindly to a noisy little stranger coming along! I enjoy peace and harmony! What I need is a more Zen existence!
Routines are good for me. I like knowing when I’m going to eat and when I’m going outside to play etc. You’d be surprised at how athletic and curious I am. I’m quite energetic so I like to walk regularly (not where there are too many other dogs) and check out what’s going on in the world. I really like having a backyard to look for squirrels and things. I like to run, fetch or race around the dog park to exercise my body and mental games like dog puzzles or hide and seek help me exercise my big brain!
I am a happy and enthusiastic companion with so much love to give! I’d like to be the centre of someone’s world again and charm them with my funny little personality. I need humans who have time to spend with me, who would like to cuddle on the couch together and go back to bed on Sundays! I’m loyal and loving and looking for a new family! Could it be you?
