My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET LILY! Lily is 10 years old and weighs 5-1/2 lbs. Sweet Lily is being fostered in The Villages, FL.

INITIAL BIO 08/22/2019: Lilly has arrived in her foster home and is settling in nicely. Poor Lily has had a bit of sadness in her life recently. She and several other small dogs were dumped at a state park in Florida several months ago. When a fellow rescuer heard about Lily’s plight, she stepped up to take her and get her fixed up. She was loaded with fleas and had hookworms. Her labs were good except she was slightly anemic from all the fleabites. She is doing much better now, but still needs a few vaccinations and a dental to repair a nasal fistula. This little lady only has 3 teeth left and she may lose them, but it certainly won’t affect her ability to eat. She has a good appetite, but like any Princess, she prefers to be hand-fed – what a stinker!

Lily’s rescuer says that she is really sweet and a snuggle bug. She gets very attached to her people and loves to be held. She is very active, not hyper, but very playful and loves toys. She really enjoys playing tug-of-war with both humans and the other small dogs iin the home. She appears to have some mountain goat in her as she can jump right up on the furniture, which may not be such a great idea, especially when she gets up on the back of the sofa. Her foster parents will be working with her on letting her know that this isn’t safe for her.

Lily follows her people around everywhere and wants to always be with them. She has a bit of separation anxiety when left home alone, but her foster parents are both retired and seldom will she be left alone. She is very curious about visitors in the home and wants to check them out thoroughly. Lily’s perfect home would be one in which there is at least one stay-at-home parent and definitely Lily needs a daddy in her home as she was very attached to the dad figure in her rescuer’s home. Because of Lily’s playful nature, she would love to have another dog in the home close to her age and size as a playmate. There is still much to learn about this sweet princess, so stay tuned for more update on little Lily.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to Lily’s small size, she cannot go into a home with children under the age of 14 years old.
