Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We adopted Mama Bear from Dekalb County Animal Shelter back in June. She is the sweetest thing in the world but she is also an ALPHA. She is great with children. We have tried to introduce her to cats and that was definitely a no go. She gets along with most dogs, as long as they are introduced properly.
When she settles in, she becomes a sweet, loving and mostly calm velvet hippo/princess/snuggle bug. She is around 72lbs and was probably used for breeding. When we rescued her she was 88lbs and I’ve been working with her eating and exercising. She is still a little thick.
The reason we are trying to find her a home is that I have an elderly dog that constantly initiates fights and is more aggressive and the two personalities do not mix.
Mama has met several other dogs through friends and family. She does well with all sizes and different breeds as long as they acknowledge her Alpha tendencies. She currently lives with two other pit mixes and a Yorkie.
