If you're looking for a fun-loving, friendly dog, Desta could be the dog for you. He’s a little over 4 years old so he is done with that messy puppy stage. He is house broken, and walks nicely on a leash. He has rode nicely in the crate while out driving. While at the rescue, Desta is crate trained, and is having a refresher in basic obedience. Although, Desta is crate trained (esp. when not being supervised), he could easily earn his freedom of not being crated because he is a very good dog. Desta came to Amber’s Angels Rescue from a high-kill shelter after his previous family had a baby. It is clear that he was loved and someone taught him some good basic skills. He demonstrates appropriate boundaries when he in new settings with new people, he doesn’t jump, or nip. He just takes his time to examine his new surrodings and people. He is a sweet boy who warms up quickly. Desta loves toys and he seems to gravitate towards stuffed animals he can snuggle with. Desta has done well with other dogs. He has been very tolerant of his spirited and active foster brother, Sullivan (also an Amber’s Angels Rescue rescue pup).
Future Ideal Dream Home: Desta would probably do fine in a condo, apartment townhouse or house! He barks occasionally but isn't a very "yappy" dog. With a yard or with multiple walks a day. He would do best in a calm, home, without a lot of hustle and bustle. Desta is true to the meaning of his name- he is joyious and just a happy guy and he brings a lot of joy to those around him. He would love nothing more than a kind, calm, gentle person and a safe, loving home to call his own. Desta is an easygoing guy just wants to be someone's stable and steady companion for the rest of his life.
Medical: Neutered, vaccinated, and on flea/tick and heart worm prevention

If you have current dogs or pets you must provide proof that your pets have been seen yearly for annual examinations, and vaccines. Documentation or a vet reference will suffice. Amber’s Angels Rescue volunteers will call the vet reference. Providing this information is not optional and is the most important step when we are processing the application.
