Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MAXWELL(aka MAX), dob: 12/05/2019-m/n, Pointer(Shar-Pei like ears=so, maybe!?) currently weighs 31lbs(9/3/19). Will be around 40lbs as an adult.
RESCUED when his owner(past neighbor of ours) came to our door begging us to take him in because he 'couldn't afford to feed him anymore'.
H4S gave MAXWELL his first set of puppy boosters and took him to have his Rabies vax given at Animal Control, back in April, because his owner couldn't afford it. Then, they moved and they show up at the end of August wanting to relinquish him to us.
Of course, H4S is there for this sweet, VERY KID-FRIENDLY boy.
Our hearts go out to the young daughter(12yo) who raised Maxwell from a small pup, gave him soooo much love & leadership, only to go of to school one day and return to find he was no longer in her life. My heart cries for these children, whose only good thing in their home life is their pet that they cherish, whom the parent disposes of on a whim(covered in tattoos, cigarette hanging out of his mouth, and the residual bad breath from the 'binge' he and wifey had been on.
MAXWELL is a very sweet, patient and loving cuddler. He is HOUSEBROKEN, walks well on-leash, crate-trained but prefers to snuggle in bed with you. DEVOTED & WANTS TO PLEASE HIS PERSON! Would make an excellent companion for a family with children(any age) and a fenced-in back yard. Also, would make an excellent companion for a avid walker, hiker, jogger.
Maxwell has been hungry in his past, so has shown some food aggression towards other dogs-never touches, just growls and lunges forward as a warning(but, this will work itself out as he learns there is no competition for all the food he needs), so it would be best to feed him separately at first, if there are other dogs living in the home.
Maxwell is now neutered, micro-chipped, utd on Bordatella, Parvo/Distemper/Lepto and Rabies vaccines, on heart worm and flea/tick prevention and will be ready to make your world a better, more loving place to be on SAT/SEPT 7th.
