We have fostered Soxxy for about 1.5 years now. He came to be with us because our next door neighbors were being evicted and couldn't take him with them. They didn't want him to go back to the shelter, and they knew we rescued animals so they asked us to take him. At first we worried Soxxy wouldn't be able to stay with us because he was so scared he was lashing out at everyone. After about 2 weeks, he calmed down. His reactions were understandable if you take into account he went from being the only animal to being one of 5 total cats (one of which was pregnant) and 2 large dogs. After 2 weeks we got to see the real Soxxy. A sweet. loving, patient animal, with a penchant for annoying the older cats. I'd never seen a cat so patient with a toddler before. He loves to cuddle, be loved on, he always thinks when you're in the kitchen it's obviously to get him a snack, even though since moving in with us he's never had people food. We believe he is around 2 years old.
