My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My 87 year old mother is hospitalized and will be unable to care for her precious companion Dixie when she is discharged - as her living arrangements will be changing; pets will not be allowed. This is heartbreaking as this loyal pooch has brought her several years of comfort and happiness. She is about 6 yrs old, house trained, crate trained, playful, lovable and up to date on shots. Loves running in her big country yard & chasing squirrels! She was rescued from a shelter about 3-1/2 yrs ago and has adapted so wonderfully. Good with children but not so much with cats. As the only dog she may be snippy toward other dogs, as she is protective of my mom.

She sleeps in her own bed (sometimes covered up) but loves to cuddle in your lap on the couch or recliner. Naps in her crate with the door open a lot.
