My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mama D has the most beautiful turquoise eyes and is just so cute and petite! She was a feral that was hanging around an apartment building and someone noticed she was pregnant. One of our volunteers fostered her for a few months with her babies and they have all been adopted except for her. She is still a little shy but is doing a lot better and is starting to trust people. Estimated to be born in September 2018. Estimated weight between 7 to 9 pounds. To meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

More about this shelter

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.

APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
