My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duke is a goofy, soulful, intuitive boy. He's just over 2 years old, neutered, and is a GSD mix. As much as he loves being outside, he loves hanging out at home with a good chew toy and some cuddles at his disposal. He's the type of guy that loves doing whatever you're doing, whenever you’re doing it.

Duke is an Ontario boy, born and raised, and was rescued from a backyard breeding situation.

He lives with a 2y/o white shepherd boy, who he was eager to get to know. Both boys get along like brothers, eating together, walking together, wrestling, and playing together, always.

Duke is a quick learner - he has an average drive but wants to please! He knows all of his basic commands and would love to learn more! As much as he loves just being loved, he needs a strong leader who can instil even more confidence in him. He's been learning with structure and rules and has really learned the most through his well-trained foster-brother.

He will need an experienced owner who can spend time guiding him, due to his large breed size.

He requirres and owner that will continue mentally stimulating him, offering him lots of physical activity.

He is crate trained and loves going into his crate for quiet time on his own. He loves the company of well-behaved larger dogs, but doesn't do well with smaller animals as he does have some minor prey drive and is a very large dog.

He isn't best suited for dog parks but he loves hiking, walks, swimming, and just playing! He would be a great fit in an active home where all members understand and respect his size, strength, and capabilities.

Due to his size, we will not adopt him into a home with kids under the age of 13 years old.

Health-wise, Duke is completely healthy and happy. He loves to eat just about anything, and he will eat up the heart of anyone he meets. He is truly a majestic guy and can’t wait to find more best friends to love forever.
