My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello Beagle Lovers! My name is Snoopy Doo, and I’m an incredibly handsome 7-year-old, 33-pound beagle.

I love meeting people, kids included, with a wagging tail and a happy heart. I’m a bit shy at first, and I’m a little scared of the noise toys make and sudden movements, but I warm up with each new day.I love the neighbor dog and like to run the fence with him. I am interested in, but mostly ignore the resident cat. However, I would be okay being the king of the castle if I get plenty of attention from my furever family.

Following my human is my favorite activity. You will never be alone with me! Although I absolutely love attention an being petted by my humans, I am not a lap dog, but will lie where I am comfy. I have warmed up to beds, but not couches quite yet. I will lie in my crate if the door is open. If it is shut and my humans leave, then I give my best beagle bay! So, I would do better with humans who are home or can come home often. I would not do well in an apartment for this reason.

I am the truest sense of the word beagle in the fact that I will stop at nothing if I smell something that I want to investigate. So, I must have a completely secure fenced in yard, and be on a leash if I am not being watched closely. I counter surf like a professional, and I chew on some things that I shouldn’t. If left to my own devices, I might be quite mischievous!

I must say I am very good on a leash. Walking is one of my favorite things to do. I will potty on a leash as well. I am working on housetraining, and do best when I am let out frequently. I love to run free in a fenced in yard. I get so excited, I get the zoomies!

My rectum prolapsed twice and I got surgery to fix it, but I am in great health now.

Please contact Midwest BREW if you would like more information about me. I have so much love to give, and I would love for you to be the family to receive it!

NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
