Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chunk is a 4-year old shy and lovable DSH tabby. He was found as a stray and loves nothing more than to be cuddled and given pets and belly rubs. He will happily plop over to show you his big belly while he blissfully makes air biscuits.
Chunk has yet to fully trust humans in his new indoor life but a sure way to win him over is to give him plenty of lap time. Although he loves to be pet and held closely, he is still quite shy and frightened and needs a patient adopter who is willing to make the first move.
Chunk was affectionately nicknamed “Pavarotti” by his rescuer for his impressive vocal skills. He will happily sing and chatter away when he’s feeling upbeat. Most of the time he prefers to be chill and lounge comfortably on a lap.
Chunk has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which is a CAT ONLY disease that decreases the ability of the immune system to fight some infections. FIV+ is not easily passed between cats. It CANNOT be transmitted casually through shared litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling or playing. FIV is most commonly transmitted via deep bites during cat fights, the virus is present in the saliva of infected cats. With appropriate care and treatment of chronic conditions, most FIV+ cats live long, healthy and relatively symptom free lives.
