My story

Monkey comes to us after several months in a home where he was not a good fit, and where his energy and intelligence were a problem. Now he needs to recover from a period of stress and anxiety. Monkey is a smart, energetic guy who needs just a little time to bond to his person, and who then looks to his person for guidance, structure, and love. We're looking for a home with someone who will continue the positive, reward-based training he's getting now, a quiet home where he can be the only pet. Monkey is heartworm positive and has started treatment, and he's recovering from extensive dental surgery (6 broken teeth were removed!). Monkey needs a guardian angel.

Why adoption is a great option

Monkey, a Austin American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog for sale in Austin, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
