Meet Wishbone, the 7-8 month old terrier mix puppy who came to us when his owner became ill and could no longer care for him. He's a very sweet boy who has a permanent semi-smile on his face at all times. He is a medium to high energy puppy who loves to play and wrestle with his two foster siblings. He is best friends with his fellow foster, Hermes the 8 pound chi, and does a great job playing nicely with him. This boy loves his toys and can usually be found carrying one around in his mouth. At the end of the day he loves to curl up either on his foster mom's feet or next to his fur siblings and take a nice snooze.
Wishbone currently weighs in and just under 20 pounds and will be a medium sized dog when full grown. He has learned how to sit, come when he's called most times and is working hard to learn a few other commands. He is a very smart boy who learns very quickly.
He is a big believer in stranger danger and so it takes him a while to warm up to new people. He will need an adopter that is willing to be patient and spend extra time with him during his initial meet and greet. He does great with other dogs and leaves the resident cat alone for the most part, but we are not recommending families with small children at this time. He likes to jump and is a bit of a nipper, two things he is working on right now.
He does well in his kennel at night and when is foster mama is gone. He is fully potty trained as long as he is kept on a schedule. At his former home he learned to use a bell at the door to let them know when he needed to go out.
