Meet BENJI! VOLUNTEER FAVORITE DOG ALERT!! This sweetie is a 3-year-old (approximate), male, 18 lb Mystery Terrier Mix (maybe Rat Terrier / Miniature Pinscher / Lab ???). Whatever he is, one thing we are absolutely sure of is that he is a doll! Just like his DNA, Benji is a little bit of everything. He is active, energetic, super playful, engaging, and fun! He is also a snuggler, mellow, and can chill next to you on the couch. Benji loves to go on walks, is easy on a leash, and is housetrained. He loves to run at top speed across the yard, so he would love an active family. Benji would make a great jogging companion - imagine his smiling face along side you as you jog by the lake. Benji loves to play with toys and entertains himself by tossing his stuffed loofah dog up in the air. He enjoys being curled up next to you while watching the Hallmark Channel (what?!?) or hanging out for a basketball game. See - a little bit of everything. :-)
While Benji is a pretty easy pup, he does need an experienced family because he can be a little mouthy in his excitement to get your attention, so he would be best in a home without small children. Benji is good with most dogs and can be a little reactive to some dogs (proper introductions are necessary), so he would prefer to be the only love of your life. Some training and stability / boundaries are all he needs and you will have the perfect pup! Benji is the happiest little guy who just wants to be loved. NOTE: We do NOT adopt out of state. Our range is no further than 40 miles North / Northwest from Chicago and 25 miles South from Chicago. This is because we PERSONALLY do home visits for every single dog / puppy. Exceptions ONLY in certain cases where a sweetie has issues (medical / behavioral / special needs) and we have had him / her for a longer time. We will then travel to the Moon for a Forever Family!
