My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is EMMA and I would love to meet you. I am a Spayed Female Yorkshire Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 7 years old. I have been at the shelter since Sep 05, 2019.

Meet Emma! This tiny cutie came to the shelter from an overcrowded and unsanitary environment, so she has been hanging out in a foster home learning how to be a house dog. Emma is working on learning how to go potty outside, and how to lounge on the couch and snuggle. Emma does well with other dogs her size and would like to go to a home where she will have a buddy or two, but larger dogs and cats are unknown. Slow and careful introduction over time is the best way to introduce a new dog to resident pets. Emma would prefer a home where people are home more than not, children need to be old enough to be able to respect her size, body language, and space.

For more information about Emma, please email dogfoster@thehumanesociety.org.
