My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You guys, Milan has been with us for almost 2 years. He’s 6 years old now, and for the life of me I cannot understand why he can’t find someone to love him the way I do.

Over the last 3-4 years (I can’t remember how long I’ve known Milan now) I have watched this dog make the most beautiful transformation, and the last step in rescue is that he is supposed to find his FURever people.

I promised Milan I would take care of him, and if he has to be a sanctuary dog, he absolutely will, but there is NO reason he shouldn’t be able to find someone to love and cherish him forever.

Yes, he needs proper introductions to strangers- he’s a German Shepherd!. Yes, he should probably be the only dog. Yes, he has IBD and low b12. I know that’s a tough sell, but c’mon this dog is a GEM.

Milan has basic obedience, he walks well on leash, he’s not reactive to other dogs while walking. He’s crate trained, house broken, vaccinated and microchipped. Milan loves riding in the car, taking long walks and hikes and loves to stop and smell the flowers.

Milan takes some special supplements, one med and gets a b12 shot at home. That’s all his condition requires, and we will pay for all of this, plus his food and condition-related vet care for his ENTIRE life. And he has lots of life left to live. Milan is in great health now. He’s got good hips and elbows, and loves going on adventures!

I recently found out that as a puppy/young dog he was returned 3x- twice because, humans… and once because of his diarrhea, which was related to this medical condition. He used to sleep on a kids bed every night, he had a little boy who loved him.

Because Milan has gotten the short end of the stick so much, I can only allow him to be fostered/adopted within a 4 hour drive from Lake Tahoe. If he ever gets let down again, I will be there for him immediately.

Milan really deserves his very own people, can you please share to help us find them? He may need to be your only friend, but he’ll be your best friend ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
