My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hope is a sweet female, approx 8 months old, Bedlington Terrier mix. Hope is has a very sweet temperament, and is very sociable with people and dogs. She is house trained and potty trained, loves to play, and enjoys a lot of cuddles and hugs.

Hope was found by a local rescuer in Wuhan, China. She was found abandoned near a trash field on the street, literally skin and bones, and left to die. She was starved to death and was unable to even stand-up due to the degree of muscle atrophy she had experienced. Two American ladies, Jeniffer and Judy saw our post and sponsored Hope’s rescue by sending her to local hospital immediately for emergency treatment. Hope was able to recover some energy after being in intensive medical care for a week. Once Hope was stable, she was transferred to a higher level of care treatment center in Changsha, with the help of Suki@Animal Hope and Wellness in China. For 2 months, Hope stayed at this location to receive treatment and rehabilitation for medical conditions related to her severe malnutrition, including distemper. At present, Hope is under Suki’s care at the base field of AHAWF Hunan, China and is on an exclusive wet diet until her gastrointestinal system can be further stabilized. Given her early traumatic experiences, Hope may need further medical and veterinarian care, including possible surgery which is still being determined by her medical team, due to her medical diagnosis of hypo-plasia joint instability of 7th lumbar vertebra and sedation.

We are planning for Hope to arrive in Newark, NJ on 11/21/2019. She is up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed once her health continues to be stabilized.

Hope is ready to find their forever home with a loving family. If you are interested, please contact Carroll at (516-510-6884) for more information and to submit an application.
