My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Oscar, one of the most charismatic, lovable seniors here on The Rescue Train. I came aboard from the North Central Los Angeles Animal Shelter during The Rescue Train's annual Race For The Rescues fundraiser. I am so relieved to be safe and in a nice cozy foster home as the shelter was pretty scary.

I don't like admitting this, but I can be a touch sensitive and a bit of an old man baby. My foster parents call me a drama king sometimes, but, hey, I'm still a king, right? I consider myself a fun and chill guy, but, now that I'm more mature, I prefer a quieter and calmer environment. Older children are more my speed. I'm also cat-friendly, and, while I can co-exist with most dogs and even play with a few, some of them just annoy me at times. I would do best in a home with a dog similar in size and energy level.

If you're my people, I prefer spending as much time with you as possible, but I won't be upset if you need to get out of the house for some human time. Just don't be upset with me if I jump up and down with joy and lather you with kisses when you come back home!

Some of my favorite activities are sunbathing in the yard and taking long naps in my favorite pouf. After my siestas, I'm happy to go on a long walk, but don't expect me to sprint in a marathon! You might see me doing some house sprints (zoom-zoom zoomies!) when I'm happy and excited, though!

I'm crate-trained and house-trained, too, but my bladder isn't what it used to be. My foster parents have me on a nice routine; I appreciate that they pay attention to my drinking and peeing habits and don't mind taking me out for more pee breaks than my foster siblings. It's especially great when they give me treats for telling them when I need to go in between my official potty breaks!

I'm told I'm a sweet and special guy with some special needs. If you think I'm the right fit for you, please consider filling out an application. XOXO, Oscar
