My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there,

Ny name is Carly. My rescuers think I'm a Dobie/Hound Mix, but could possibly have some Rottweiler in me as well.

I was discovered by a 90 year old woman whose outbuilding I had hidden under to have my puppies. I was just a puppy myself and was scared and didn't know where to go. Heavy rain was on the way, and she didn't want us to get hurt, so she called Lucies to come in and rescue us. They had to hire a tall, skinny kid to shimmy under the building to get us out because like I said, I was very frightened. I had a total of 10 puppies.

They made sure I was secured before they got my babies out, and I was ok with that because after all, I was young myself and didn't know what was going on.

My loving rescuers worked until late into the night to setup a nice cozy place for me and my pups, creating a whelping area as private as possible. Unfortunately when they returned the next morning, 9 of my babies had crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. We are not sure why, perhaps I had accidently lain on them. I had no idea how to take care of them or the 1 remaining puppy that survived. Maybe I didn't understand that she was just a baby, as I would grab her by her back leg and throw her into the doghouse like a toy, but not aggressively. I feel really bad about that :(

They had to watch my pup very closely, (they named her Carla, after me) and even considered separating her from me, but she was all I had left and they
worried about me. Once Carla was old enough, she got adopted and I was happy.

I've been here for several months now, and am a happy, go lucky girl! I have been leash and crate trained, love kids and other dogs. I have a medium energy level and I love to run and play, so an active family would be great! Oh, and I'm not known to be barker, but I would if danger was present.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my story. I hope to hear from you soon!!
