My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carson is a super handsome, 1 year old (as of November), male Cattle dog/Jack Russell Terrier. This 30-35lb. boy is very energetic, athletic, and intelligent! He loves to run, chase, fetch, and just enjoy life :) Carson would be a great match for adventurous people. FOSTER UPDATE 12/12/19: Carson is a very handsome 1-year old, 35-pound, male Cattle dog/Jack Russell Terrier. Carson is crate trained, mostly house broken (he wears a “belly band” in new environments to help teach him where it is and isn’t appropriate to go potty), he does well in the car, is very social, playful, intelligent, and praise-driven.

Carson has loved every dog he’s met – he’s played well with everyone from the 5-pound Bichon Frise puppy at the office to his 75-pound Bully mix foster brother. Carson is interested in the cats in his foster home but is easily corrected (by his foster human OR the cat!) if he gets TOO interested. Although there are no children in his foster home, Carson has had several interactions with children as young as 1 year old which have all been very positive!

Carson’s approach to all humans is very gentle; he is soft mouthed when given toys, treats, and other high value items & he is also gentle and soft mouthed when those items are being taken from him. He is praise-driven, nothing makes him happier than getting some love and hearing that he’s a “good boy!” Carson goes to the dog-friendly office with his foster mom frequently. At the office, Carson is extremely well behaved – even though the environment can be overwhelming; he listens when she calls for him the "come," he also takes a "no" correction (although

reluctantly
, at times). Carson is loved by everyone at the office, both human and canine, and he is able to stay for 8 hours without a problem.
Carson is currently in a foster home with a 75-pound bully mix and a 30-pound mutt and would LOVE a forever home with a playmate. He is either eating, sleeping, at the office, or playing with his foster siblings. Carson also spends a lot of time running and playing with the Beagle puppy next door (check out his video!). Even though Carson is gentle and laid back, he has a lot of energy that he needs to get out; a big yard to run around in with a new brother or sister would be a dream come true for him!

If interested in adopting, please visit www.masrescue.org and click on "Adopt Here". Beginning June 30th, 2017, MAS Rescue will charge a $10 non refundable administrative application processing fee. 100% of this fee will be for our rescued animals in need. To be clear: 1. No dog application will be processed until the $10 fee is paid via PayPal link on our website: http://www.masrescue.org/helpus.html.
2. The $10 is non refundable. Should you be approved and adopt an animal through MAS Rescue, you will receive a $10 credit to your adoption fee.
3. Paying the application fee is in no way a guarantee that you will be approved to adopt an animal through MAS Rescue. All of the same standards in processing applications still apply. See our policies and procedures: http://www.masrescue.org/pnp.html
4. By submitting an application and paying the $10 application fee, you agree to the terms listed above. If you do not adopt through MAS Rescue or your application is rejected, this serves as your notice of the application fee policy. The Adoption Fee is $300.00. Please Note: 100% of all the adoption fees collected are used to care for the animals, and pay our ever increasing vet bill. We appreciate your interest in adopting from a rescue organization. We understand the desire to meet our "cuties" as soon as possible, but because we operate entirely out of foster homes, we need to limit visitation to approved applicants only. Once your completed application is submitted by you and approved by MASR, we will be glad to schedule your visit. This dog has been examined by our vet, spayed or neutered (if not previously done), vaccinations updated, heartworm negative, and has been microchipped. Breed Selection is 'Best Efforts' given by shelter staff, veterinarians and rescue volunteers. NO guarantees are implied. Dogs benefit greatly from Obedience Training - and we encourage you to check out http://www.pupsdogobediencetraining.com/ . They offer a great discount for training of dogs coming from MAS Rescue! Please note that small breeds are not well designed for families with young children as everything about them is more delicate and will require careful handling. Remember adoption is a commitment for the lifetime of your new furry friend; dogs could live 15 years or more!!
