My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Labrador cross 2 years male

Chill Tyson

Tyson was rescued from the streets, when he was just a baby and has been with us for 1.5 years. Long story; Ty was adopted in Mexico but was quickly abandoned again. Not his fault, not because he was a bad boy, it was because they just didn’t care about him as much as they said they would. It’s a long and grueling story of the lack of care of dogs, whether in Canada or anywhere else for that matter. But we always kept our eye on Tyson and when it was noticed they were not going to care for him, we took him back.

He adores his people and is a dream on walks. He pokes along, content to be by his human for whatever distance they would like him to go. Whether it be a walk through the woods, a hike through the bush or a stroll along a street, Tyson is your man. Tyson is crate trained and very content to roll into his crate for a snooze. No need to close the crate gate, because he is very content in there. He also loves to sit on top of his crate. I guess, he is playing a game of "king of the hill"

Tyson has been around a lot of dogs at the rescue and he has raised many a puppy. He is not overly particular but does become alert when there are too many around. He most recently was with 50 dogs. He was chill with them and was clear with the dogs when they were too much for him. A bunch of dogs racing around really isn’t his thing. Way, way too much excitement for our chill boy. When he is overly excited Tyson will visibly "shake it off". For dogs, this happens when stress has built up in the system, and the "shake off" helps to reset the dog's physical and mental state. Tyson is very good at regulating his stress levels and resetting his system.....Good Boy Tyson!!

Tyson is looking for people who have calm energy to match his chill nature. He is not particularly interested in cats…meh. Tyson would love a fairly quiet life in a house with a yard, a dog pal ( he really misses his best girl Lora) , maybe a respectful kid or two, and people who have lots of time to spend with him.

No Borders Animal Rescue Society (NOBARS)

We are a registered non profit society. All our dogs are vaccinated, sterilized and are fostered in homes with families.

NOBARS believes that a dog is best assessed for a new home environment by living in one!!!! Therefore we do not use kennels, but have a network of approved foster homes where our dogs can be properly assessed before being offered for rehoming. Our foster homes offer a varied range of experiences which means we can choose an appropriate foster home for each dog, but it also means our dogs are able to experience situations which are invaluable to owners looking to take on a new forever friend, such as children, cats and other dogs.
