My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our border collie boy, Rockie! Rockie was welcomed by Canines & Company's Adoption Program when our transfer partner became aware he needed rescue placement after his previous owner passed away. We have since began getting to know and love him, as it's close to impossible not to after meeting this beautiful dog.

Rockie is extremely affectionate and LIVES for human affection. He is a dog that will seek it out from anyone who even remotely makes eye contact with him. For this reason, we are looking for a family or individual who will give Rockie the time and attention he desperately craves. Rockie pulls to meet children he passes and has yet to meet a human being he hasn't melted into immediately.

Rockie has done well with all his dog friends. He is tolerant of dogs who aren't fond of him and reciprocates play with dogs who are willing. He is bouncy and goofy and has been participating in playgroups at Found Training Center daily. Rockie would be a great companion for a playful dog friend.

It is apparent that Rockie has had limited exposure to training concepts like leash walking or energy outlets, such as fetch. The professional trainers at Found are teaching him about these things and he is receptive and excited to learn! We are confident with a little TLC and some guidance, Rockie will make an excellent pet.

It is ideal that Rockie's future home is active and willing to spend time working and exercising him daily. Although an adult dog around the age of 3 years or so, he is young and spunky! Rockie is a close to purebred border collie, which is a high energy working breed. His adoption fee comes with a FREE group class at Found Training Center, and we hope his future home is interested in participating or has a solid training plan in place, as he adores learning new things with his humans.

If interested in fostering or adopting Rockie, please email Brittney@caninesandcompany.org.
