Sugar is as sweet as her name is! She’s estimated to be 1-2 years of age and came to us from the reservation. She arrived underweight and with a dog bite to the face which needed vet attention. She weighs approximately 30 pounds or so and is considered full grown.
Sugar is a bit timid and shy at first meeting, but she warms up quickly and loves pets and belly rubs. She loves when people baby talk to her and just wants to make everyone happy! Sugar does well with kids, although loud and rambunctious ones scare her, and she’ll hide. She loves to give kisses to the quiet ones and enjoys taking treats gently from their hands.
Sugar does well with other dogs – she loves to give kisses on there chins and is respectful if they tell her to back off. Sugar does well with cats and doesn’t mind them too much – she will chase them away from her kennel as she considers this her safe space.
Sugar does well on the leash although when nervous and unsure, she will army crawl. She is kennel trained and believed to be house trained as she has not had any accidents in her foster home. Her foster home did note that when taken outside, she does take a little while to do her jobs.
Sugar is working on learning basic manners and commands – she wants to please and seems eager to learn. She’s learned how to kennel up, come when called, and is working on sit and lie down.
Sugar’s adoption donation fee is $300. She has been vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, spayed and is current on her flea/tick/heartworm/deworming preventatives.
