My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing a very special little girl, Iza! Just take a look at those eyes! How much pain can a dog take? Iza would share with you that wondering the streets she has been cold, scared, hurt… She has seen the worst in people and yet she still trusts them and wants to be loved… When she was found by the volunteers in a small remote city in Russia her back leg was badly hurt. She was starving. She was exhausted. She was crying for human help. Iza was rescued and taken to the hospital to undergo several surgeries which, resulted in a partial leg amputation. After that she was placed in an animal shelter outside of Moscow, where she was left licking her physical and emotional wounds with no hope for adoption. Learning to move around on three legs in a small kennel with other dogs around is not an easy task… Nevertheless, Iza survived and persevered. She has recently traveled to the US in hopes of finding her forever home!
Iza is 1 year old, spayed, vaccinated up-to-date and microchipped. She is a medium size dog - 33 lbs and 19.5" to the shoulders. She is very tender and affectionate. You can see how she is a bit shy at first, but still longs for human contact. Despite missing a leg, Iza is an active, playful girl. She loves to walk next to her human, good on a leash, but has difficulty going up and down when it's more than 3-4 steps. Iza is friendly even to strangers, gentle with kids, curious but respectful of cats. She would love a company of another friendly and gentle dog to play with. Currently, Iza is staying in a foster home near Philadelphia, PA. Because of her past, we are looking for a very best family that will be able to accommodate Iza’s special needs and provide unconditional love for this special girl!
