My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Microchipped, FIV/FeLV NEGATIVE, DOB Nov 23rd, 2009

Meet gorgeous Kopi-O!

Kopi-O, meaning “strong black coffee served with sugar” and traditionally served in Malaysia and Singapore, is especially appropriate for this little lady as she is truly strong but sweet. Kopi has the perfect balance between gentle, friendly, affectionate, playful, and energetic. She craves human company and loves to give head butts and gently paw at you (she is front declawed). Whenever her foster parents walk by, she would give a firm and earnest “meow” greeting that is just too cute for words! They even believe Kopi has the potential to be a lap cat.

She is curious about her environment and would explore endlessly. Kopi also loves to play with wand toys and chasing after scrunched paper balls. Check out the video links below. Looking at Kopi running and bouncing around, you would have thought she is a kitten instead of a senior cat. She even has that wonderful kitten smell!

Kopi-O was surrendered to the Hamilton Animal Services and transferred to Toronto Cat Rescue where she can thrive in a foster home.

Kopi is a particular girl and has a few rules though:
1) she must be the boss, so let her initiate contact with you - just being in her presence is enough for her;
2) while she loves head and jaw scritches, she does not need a lot of petting - wait for her signal and give her just a few slow, gentle scritches;
3) Kopi needs a quiet and laid back environment to be her true self - small children or noisy/aggressive animals would not be a good fit.

Here are some videos of Kopi-O and her funny quirks:
