Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Chester! Chester is a 1 year old Maine Coon Mix! He is a handsome fellow with a black silky long coat and pretty GREEN eyes! He is super friendly playful, and loving. He's a very social boy! Chester would be a good kitty for someone looking for a companion cat. He does like other cats, but not dogs. He does like to give the occasional "love nip" (this is why we put no young children), but is doing that less and less since he is playing with pole toys, chasing balls, and other cat toys He is very talkative, meows and coos at you He's a total luv bug! He will lay in your lap too if he can fit! He's a BIG BOY! He was found abandoned on the streets, not neutered, but wanted inside. No owner was found. Our vet took a BB out of his rear right hind leg, that grazed through the skin (no leg or nerve, muscle damage) so someone actually shot at this poor, friendly, kitty!
He has been diagnosed with mild asthma, but is asymptomatic (showing no signs or symptoms). He is not on medication at this point. As for now we do not know what would trigger him so Chester will need to live with a non smoker. You will need to use low dust or no dust litter or unscented litter (Currently using Arm and Hammer Cloud Control). Minimize Irritants that Can Cause Cats with Asthma to Cough or Wheeze. Cat owners are encouraged to avoid any potential environmental irritants such as mold, pollen, cigarette smoke, perfume, dust, etc. Clean your house more frequently, vacuum and change air filters to help keep the air clean. Try to be mindful of household cleaning agents, as some scented cleaners and air fresheners may serve as irritants. Best to use "green" household products that would be safe for humans and pets. A household air purifier might benefit him in the long run. His blood work (we did full blood panels) - came back normal.
All of our adoptable kittens and cats are tested negative for felv/fiv, spayed/neutered, given age appropriate shots, dewormed for all three types, and flea meds are given.
