Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Polo came to us as a special case, needing immediate help for a bone fracture that happened when she was attacked by the owner's dog. Poor sweet Polo had been attacked and left to heal on her own until another private rescuer got wind of her condition and talked the owner into surrendering her. Polo underwent surgery for the repair and is doing very well.
Polo loves attention and will seek out affection from you, but she does have a fear of being picked up which we attribute to the pain she was left in for so long. We do believe that in time she will learn to trust and will get over those fears but it isn't something that we see happening quickly and therefore, our recommendation for adoption is no young children. She really is quite lovable and would do fine with older children who can understand and work with her limitations. Let us clarify "limitations" though - she runs, she jumps, she plays and tumbles with other cats, etc. Her limitations are strictly behavioral and on her own terms.
This sweetie is soooo deserving of a new forever home; she went through a lot before she made her way to us but there's nothing stopping her now. If you have room in your heart for a spicy gal with lots of love to give and are not bothered by the fact that she prefers not to be picked up, then Polo just might be your match. Polo's DOB is approx. 12/2017.
