My story

Meet Belini (Bella) - Pet of the Week!

Belini (aka Bella) is estimated to be about 5 years old. She was adopted from another organization about a year ago (they guessed her to be 3-4 years old at the time) and her former family brought her in to us just before the holidays to help her find a better match.

Bella is a sweet dog, a very friendly girl. She does her chores quickly when let out, is happy to run around the yard awhile and then kennels up beautifully. Seems to be pretty happy to please if you have a treat. She seems a little deaf if you don't have a treat, ha!

She does pull on the leash and weighs about 80 pounds, so she'll need someone who can handle her and can give her regular exercise.

Why adoption is a great option

Belini(Bella), a Fort Leavenworth Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Fort Leavenworth, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Fort Leavenworth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Leavenworth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Leavenworth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Leavenworth paves the way for another one to be saved.
