Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dalgoo was rescued from a high kill shelter in Korea last year. After being rescued, he lived in a boarding house with other dogs where he happily played with other dogs and people. He was nicknamed “Mr. Smiley” by the rescue volunteers because he was always happy, positive, and smiling.
Our smiley boy made the trip to Canada in November 2019 and lived as the only dog. There, he felt lost without his shelter friends and had a difficult time settling in with a lot of insecurities.
Currently, Dalgoo lives with his foster in Langley and what a difference it’s made! His foster mom reports he is very social and submissive with the other 4 dogs in her home. He is a curious puppy who likes to play and is a follower, not a leader. This means he readily submits to more senior or dominant dogs in the home when it comes to food and getting human attention.
Dalgoo eats well at his foster home, and knows commands such as sit, down, come, and can catch treats when thrown in the air. He is very smart and picked up his new routine within 2-3 days of arriving and now sleeps through the night without any whining. He has experience with his foster’s 8 year old nephew.
He is not destructive in the house, is affectionate with people and enjoys following them around. He does bark a bit when his foster leaves the room, but will stop when told to quiet down.
Dalgoo is a very sweet and loving boy who’s ideal home would consist of:
– a home with 1-2 other dogs (this is a requirement for adoption)
– experience with dogs and ability to be a confident leader
– experience with young dog behaviors, and knowledgeable on how to direct them
– a home with a flexible work schedule in the beginning, so someone is usually home to allow him time to settle in and set him up for success
– a home with a secure yard would be a big bonus
