My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Josey was adopted from the Roswell, New Mexico Animal Control in May 2019. She was about seven months old at the time, and had been found on the streets by them. I had recently lost my 17-year-old terrier and was unable to live without a dog in my life. I've had dogs all my life and I am now a senior citizen which is why I must now put Josey up for adoption. At my age, she is too much for me to handle. My health has been declining since returning to Illinois. She is a very sweet dog, loves to give kisses and follows me everywhere. Unfortunately, we are now living in an adult community where all dogs must be leashed. I had a home and huge yard in New Mexico so this has been quite a change for both of us. Admittedly, she needs a stronger person to handle her on the leash.
I want her to find a good, caring family who will have the patience and time to train her properly. She is not fond of cats, and should have a place to run free. Please help Josey find her forever home.
