Hi! I'm Janine, Queen of the Belly Rubs! I am an 8 year old terrier mix. That's legal jargon. What I really am is a 100% adorable, loving, deer chasing, foodie! Foster Mom (FM) says I am a hoot! I am at my target weight of 13.5 pounds.
2019 ended up being a great year for me. You see, when I came to SLR in November, I had a three pound tumor hanging from my belly! Can you imagine! The kind folks here (and I'm looking at you Aunties Marty and Leigh Ann) got that all taken care of. I have also been spayed, had a benign mammary tumor removed, had an inguinal hernia repair, and had my teefers polished. Woo honey! I am feelin' fine! SLR has been wonderful to me. FM says I am a trouper. Unfortunately, my big tumor was malignant, but it's okay! It won't spread, and when it comes back my new family will love me so much they will have it removed. I have many years to love them!
I currently live with four dogs and three cats. Let me tell, you cats can be fun to chase sometimes! I don't hurt them though. My dog friends range from 12 to 95 pounds. We are cool. Every once in a while I tell the littlest one to stay away from my food. After all, I was skin and bones when I got here, and I remember those dark days. FM feeds me separately, and all is well. I bark my food order in every time!
Sometimes, well a lot of the time, when FM calls me, I tend to ignore her. My doctor man says I hear fine. FM says well then I must have the selective hearing of a middle school boy! And I limp a little, but boy howdy I can chase those pesky deer! I ride well in the car. I want to sit in FM's lap, but she says that's a no go. I am good for the doctor man and the groomer lady. The groomer lady's husband discovered that I like to be held like a baby. I love my bed, but, as a champion snuggler, I love FM's better.
