Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our little beauty, Susie, affectionately known as Susie Q! This little lady was surrendered to Chicago Animal Care and Control for having too much energy. We know that she lived with two children and two adults and did well. It was reported that she also lived with two dogs.
Right off the bat, we could see Susie's energy. She is full of spirit and working drive. She likes to please her handler and bonds quickly with her people. She is so intelligent and learns incredibly quickly. Susie is currently working on foundational obedience, trick, and sport dog training at Found Training Center, where she has dabbled in agility and disc (frisbee). She was a complete natural and took to catching discs like she had done it all her life. Susie lives to fetch, she will literally play with any toy you choose, she just wants to play. She is a little worker bee and enjoys being one with her handler.
Susie can be over excited with other animals. She is high drive and typical of a working-type terrier. She is learning to acclimate to other dogs and has been able to exist around other dogs calmly with something else to focus on like the work she so enjoys. She is phenomenal at taking direction, so if she knows what you want, she is willing to do it. We are confident that with patience, Susie can continue adding new dogs to her group of dog "friends," however, at this time she has yet to actually play with another dog. She would do well with a dog that is calm and will ignore her and is respectful of boundaries.
Susie would thrive with an active family that understands and appreciates terrier work ethic. She would excel in dog sports like agility, disc, or dock diving. She has high toy and food drive and will work for almost any motivator of your choosing. She is such a spunky, sweet little girl and we have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her.
Her adoption fee comes with FREE training at Found Training Center for her new family. Please contact brittney@caninesandcompany.org for more info on our Susie!
