Harmony is a spunky 2 year old gal who is an Australian Shepherd/Catahoula mix. She arrived to rescue when her family could no longer provide what she needed. She weighs approximately 60 pounds and is considered full grown.
Harmony does well with other dogs – she enjoys play dates and visiting the dog park. Harmony previous lived with cats and did not have any issues. With the breed mixture that she is, sometimes she shows herding traits and will attempt to ‘herd’ the other animals.
Harmony is shy, but friendly, when first meeting people. She is respectful but she takes a good while to fully warm up – in her foster home, she took 2-3 weeks to come out of her shell and show her personality. She has previously lived with children, but we will require a home with older children (preferably with dog experience) due to her breed tendencies.
Harmony knows her basic commands and has completed basic obedience – she is stubborn and occasionally will try not to follow through on what is being asked. It is imperative that her new owners follow through on all of her commands – she needs this to help curb her breed tendencies. Harmony also needs a good amount of daily exercise – approximately 1-2 hours a day. She loves going for walks, playing fetch, and having play dates with other pups. Without enough exercise, she becomes frustrated and bored and will invent games and push boundaries. Harmony is used to being leashed and walks well – she also loves to frolic in a fenced yard.
Harmony is super well house trained – she is also crate trained. She loves learning new commands and would thoroughly enjoy more obedience classes, with potential to love Agility and other dog sports! Harmony would love to find a family who has experience with her breeds, is active, and willing to continue to provide leadership, rules, and physical & mental stimulation.
Harmony has been vet checked, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, spayed and is current on her flea/tick/heartworm/deworming medications. Harmony’s adoption donation fee is $300.
