Are you looking for a playful guy?!? TIGGS was rescued from the Austin City Pound on Jan 20, 2016 when no one came to claim him and he was due to be euthanized. This sweet guy was a young adult--probably around a year of age at the time of rescue, and he LOVES to play! He tolerates other cats, but really prefers people. He is now neutered, current on shots, and has passed his blood test for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm. He will be adopted to a responsible, loving, INDOOR home and the fee is $50. To meet TIGGS or any of our other cats, go to mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our simple online application. You must be 21 to adopt from MCHS. We will get in touch to set up a meeting time. Our address is 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN. We are located off of I-90 via exit 180B to 218 SOUTH. We are just past our local airport. THANKS!

For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
