My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Princess Mia is a 7-pound, 2-year-old long-haired Chihuahua who knows exactly how precious she is! If she had her way, Foster Dogmom would carry her around on a golden pillow all day.

This diminutive beauty lives in house with 5 other dogs and 11 cats, and she gets along well with all of them. She does not play with toys particularly but has one very good trick: she will leap from the ground up into the arms of Foster Dogmom. She likes Foster Dogdad, too, but she bonded with Dogmom the moment she came from the shelter into the house and has not willingly left her side since.

As befits a princess, Mia is picky about who touches her. When strangers reach out their hands to pet her head without her permission, she snaps at them. No breaking of skin—just a warning shot across the bow. Once she gets used to the stranger in the room, she will allow herself to be petted. And she will take treats from anyone, stranger or not. But because of this quality, she cannot be around children at all. She would be happiest with a single woman or a couple. She would not mind some other dogs or cats either, though she will want to make sure she gets the bulk of attention herself. It is her royal prerogative, after all.

By and large, Mia’s manners are good. She is housetrained. She is totally non-destructive. She is not a barky dog, and she’s not overly kissy. More than anything, Mia wants to be somebody’s dog. She wants to know that she is special, and cherished, and loved by her person. And she will give it all back in return.
