My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

STILL LOOKING FOR HER FUREVER PEOPLE ❤️

Aleah is a very good girl, but at only a year-old, she is still very puppy-like and can be mouthy. She knows sit, down, focus and place and walks well on a leash. She’s crate trained and potty trained!

Aleah is a tripod but it doesn’t slow her down at all! She was hit by a car, resulting in the amputation, and she STILL will try to chase cars- a secure fence and leashed-walks are required until she has more training.

Aleah is a typical German Shepherd. She loves all people, but doesn’t understand her size, so probably no young kids. She does have prey-drive, so no kitties or small dogs.

Aleah is goofy and playful but needs an adopter who will set clear and consistent rules and boundaries with her. When it comes to needing to take things from her, we always offer her a trade, and she LOVES to trade.

She does enjoy playing with our large, male dog-testing dog, but she does not share well with other dogs- not food, toys nor the water bowl. We are recommending a home with no other dogs. Aleah will absolutely light up your life and you won’t be sorry to bring her into your home ❤️

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

If you see a pet you’re interested in or you don’t but you would like to adopt from our organization anyway, please fill out an application!

2.

Meet the Pet

We set up first meet and greets in a public location for you to get to know the dog(s) you’re interested in.

3.

Meet the Pet

We do require a second meet and greet, which also helps if you’re torn between multiples! We encourage you to meet at least 2 dogs!

4.

Home Check

If the home check is goes well and everyone is still confident, the contract is signed, fee paid and your new dog can stay that day!

More about this rescue

We are long-time animal lovers working hard to reduce the number of euthanized dogs in shelters. Our ultimate goal is to house and employ veterans, teach them how to prepare a dog for adoption and should they wish, reach them to run a successful rescue so they may take our model and open one anywhere there’s a need of Veterans and K9’s alike!
