Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Penny was a rescue in Milwaukee, WI, adopted in June 2016. She has been in good health and generally weighs between 25 and 30 pounds.
She follows basic commands and does well on a leash. She remains fearful of other dogs outside, though she has become far less reactive than she was originally. If other dogs are avoided (i.e., walking on the other side of the street) she does better. She is very friendly to new people and children, though she may bark once to twice initially when people come inside.
Penny has separation anxiety which has led to her being destructive to the home (chewing on door trim and doors) and herself (chewing on her kennel, her tail and legs). She needs someone who is generally a homebody - maybe someone who regularly works from home or someone retired. Various attempts at treatment, including Adaptil, essential oils, CBD, medications (daily antidepressant, trazodone and benadryl as needed), different treats including a kong, etc. have limited success.
